Ultimate Frisbee

About Regis Ultimate Frisbee

During the offseason (Fall/Winter) practices take place in the morning on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. They usually take plce from 7:40-8:20 AM (before school). During the season (Spring) practices usually take place on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. They will run from 3:10 PM (when the team leaves Regis) to 4:45. Games will usually take place on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, but they can be any day. Season games are never on weekends, only tournaments take place on the weekends. Practices take place at Van Cortland Park in the Bronx. To get to practice players will take the Crosstown Bus and then the 1 Train to its final stop (Van Cortland Park - 242 St). The team will usually travel together. While travel times can vary, players will usually get home from practices and games around 6 to up to 8PM (if you travel through Penn Station, you will get there around 5:45 after practice and 7 after games). The training for the team is usually running-intensive, which can be a challenge for many players. The coach of the Ultimate Frisbee team is Mr. Eickman, the Director of Admissions and Enrollment at Regis. Jim Scanlon, one of the Senior leaders on the Frisbee team, describes the Ultimate Frisbee team as “super fun and enthusiastic about pretty much everything. Even if we’re practicing in the rain or freezing cold, someone manges to keep our spirits up. We also have the best sideline by far, with an abundance of snacks during games.”
