About Regis Cross Country
Practices take place every Monday through Thursday, for about 1 hour each day. There are meets on Saturdays that last about 2-3 hours at Van Cortlandt Park, which is in the Bronx. Practices are mainly held in Central Park. The team is led by Mr. Bonagura, who is also the Latin teacher at Regis.
About Regis Track
Practices take place every Monday through Thursday, for about an hour. There are track meets on Saturday that last about 2-3 hours. Winter track meets are held at the Nike Armory in Washington Heights and Ocean Breeze in Staten Island. Practices are sometimes held at Macomb’s track in the Bronx. However, most track practices are in Central Park. Practices start at 3:20 and end at 4:30. For spring track, there are practices at Ichan 2 times a week, where there are also meets.
About Regis Field
Practices usually take place 4-5 days during the week, and will last 1-2 hours. Practices will sometimes Meets will usually be 1 day every 1.5 weeks. They will last about 6 hours. Practices are usually held in the Regis Lower Gym, as well as Randalls Island (Field 10). Expect to get home from practice around 6-7 PM. Sometimes the commute can be challenging, especially after the fatigue of practices, so managing time is usually the hardest part of being on the team. The coach of the team is Mr. Febles, who is also a School Counselor and College Advisor at Regis. The team is very tight knit, and an encouraging and fun environment.
